prologue

Justice is one of the most needed issues in the world today. Unfortunately, the institutions responsible for establishing global justice are in a state of great inertia. In an age that has lost its compassion, we have the responsibility to be the representative of justice and the voice of conscience.
In this work, which we have written separately, we describe in detail the search for justice that Turkey has put forward for all humanity. We are exposing injustice, discrimination and double standards in the world with the example of the United Nations. In particular, we draw attention to the need for comprehensive reform of the Security Council, which ”only serves the interests of the five countries that have the right to veto". We point out the predicaments of global politics under the titles of global injustice, refugee crisis, international terrorism and anti-islamism. We are addressing the problems of legitimacy, functionality, effectiveness, inclusiveness, representation and governance of the United Nations. We also emphasize that a more just world is possible with a principled, comprehensive, strategic and feasible reform proposal for the United Nations, where justice in representation is ensured and the veto privilege is abolished.
The United Nations was established as a guarantee of global peace after the Second World War. However, at the current point
unfortunately, it has moved away from meeting the expectations of peace and prosperity of humanity and has turned into a structure that guarantees the interests of the powerful, not the whole world. While the UN remained a bystander to the atrocities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria, international law has never punished Israel's cruel practices. If the Security Council had been in a structure where the whole world was represented fairly, such injustice and destruction would not have occurred.
One of the most important problems of the world today is the hypocritical and insincere attitude taken in the face of terrorist organizations that threaten countries and global stability. Despite all the suffering, as long as there is this distorted understanding from terrorist organizations to hope for help, it is obvious that a global struggle cannot be waged with terrorist organizations in a way that achieves results, and no problem of humanity can be solved.
Anti-Islamism, which is on the rise in the West, and more clearly, anti-Muslim hatred, also reveals that lessons have not been learned from the suffering that has reached up to the massacres of Muslims in the past. The fact that anti-Islamic practices are being protected by the state in some countries and trying to be legitimized through the law also points to the gravity of the threat we are facing. For the sake of world peace and the peace of humanity, it is essential that the United Nations also take steps and take measures on this vital issue. But with the current problematic structure of the organization, this also seems unlikely. Today's problems cannot be solved with theories shaped according to the needs of the past. It is even obvious that these theories produce new problems.
According to the current adhesion of the Security Council, three-quarters of the world's population has been left ineffective and unauthorized. the fate of 8 billion people cannot be abandoned to the mercy, ambition, extraction and whims of five countries that do not even give an account. This situation is neither fair nor sustainable.
According to our understanding, it is justice that will ensure the order, salvation and happiness of the world. A global order that gives hope and confidence is also needed for a more just world. Despite all its shortcomings, we think that the United Nations floor is an important opportunity in this direction if it is subjected to the necessary reform. As Turkey, we reiterate our call for a comprehensive reform in the structure and functioning of the United Nations, especially in the Security Council, at every opportunity. We will continue to say “The world is bigger than five” until a system is established in which the right is strong, not the strong are right.
