The religion of Islam, which is the last and the last religion and has reached us for fifteen centuries by preserving its basic resources with the permission of Allah, will continue to call people to light, guidance and salvation until the Day of Judgment.
From this religion, which is the source and guarantee of happiness for people in the world and the hereafter, everyone will be entitled to it, as much as they deserve, to the extent of their sincerity and effort.
The Religion of Islam means happiness, peace and well-being both in this world and in the hereafter for those who manage to walk in this world without losing their goals and without disturbing their direction.
The reason for human existence in this world is to worship the Supreme Creator. As a matter of fact, it is stated in our great book, the Quran, "I have created jinn and people only so that they may serve (me)." (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 56). So, the main purpose of people is to fulfill the duty of servitude to the Supreme Creator properly.
For this reason, God Almighty (Jala al-Jelaluhu) has sent warning prophets and books that are sources of guidance throughout history, as a manifestation of his compassion for us.
The purpose of sending prophets and books is to remind people of their forgotten duty of servitude and how to fulfill this duty.
Our Prophet (pbuh), the last and golden ring of the line of prophets, is the last of this holy caravan of messengers. With him, the period of prophecy has ended, as well as the period of divine books.
From now on, all humanity, who has come and will come to the Day of Judgment, has to enlighten its path and find a direction with the Book brought by that Prophet and what he taught.
Undoubtedly, the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Aleyhi and Salam) made the most perfect and altruistic work that can be fit into a normal human life, and explained the commands of Allah to the whole humanity and what He expected from His servants and fulfilled his duty in the most perfect way. He attained Refik-i A'lâ.
After Him, the religion, the Book and the Sunnah, and the ulama, who are His successors, will teach this ummah. For, in a hadith recited from Ebud Derda (Radıyallahu Anh), our Prophet Vesselam said:
"The scholars are the heirs of the prophets." Therefore, if we cannot solve any issue of our religion ourselves, that is, if we are not from the clergy group, we should go to the ulama who are the successors of the prophets and ask them for a solution. Throughout history, the attitude of Muslims has always been like this. For this reason, the rulers and rulers gave great importance to the ulama, and realized that both the authority and the corruption of the society were dependent on the ulama, they elevated the scholar and the scholar to the appropriate position.
When the rope of the simile broke, the imam disappeared and the grains were scattered, there has been a terrible disorder and disorganization in the Islamic World ever since.
Alim and ignorant mingled; Literature disappeared, morality was distorted (corrupted), zuhd and piety measures became unremarkable. World ambition and desires filled their hearts, the hereafter was forgotten. Love and respect disappeared, brotherhood ties were broken. A full-time landscape prevailed.
In this chaos, it is almost as difficult to catch the decrees and truths of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Sunnah, to separate the truth from the wrong and to convey it to people as hard as rowing the current, but it is also an essential and responsible business ...
Today, it is a bitter truth that everyone, whether or not in a position to speak in the name of Islam, speaks in the name of Islam. Mixing a few books, following the articles published in magazines and newspaper columns, as if giving our people the authority to judge the religion of Islam, now each individual has a direction in his own way. It is almost everybody knows everything, everybody thinks that he only knows the truth in every subject. In such an environment where every issue related to the religion of Islam is discussed and discussed with everyone without saying right or wrong, it is natural that facts and lies, truths and curves are mixed together.
There is no Islamic field left, so that it will not be aroused with great zeal. There are discussions about the Quran, the Sunnah of the Seniyya, the fiqh, the Tafsir and the Kalam being the subject of disputes. Of course, Sufism could not be expected to be excluded from these discussions. Among these Islamic institutions whose cadre values have shrunk in the eyes of people as the discussions are not competent, unfortunately, Sufism has taken the biggest share from denial.
Among the issues of concern to Sufism, there are such that people, without realizing that they are playing with a double-edged sword, cause their own feet to slip when they criticize others, forgetting that it is necessary to never let go of caution and measure in such matters of allegiance.
Its purpose is self-preservation and moral distress (correcting habits); We have considered it a duty to carry out such a study in the face of the accusations and slanders made about the Sufism experts, who do not have any purpose other than bringing people to their goals without falling into the trap of the soul and the devil in this worldly life.
The purpose of the preparation of this book is not to fully introduce and explain Sufism. There are already plenty of works written for this purpose. What we want to do here is to deal with the controversial issues that come to mind when it comes to Sufism and to reveal the truth about these issues.
1- First of all, we explained the meanings of the dictionary and the terminology of every issue we deal with.
2- Then we mentioned the passages (proofs) from the Quran and the Sunnah that indicate that issue.
3- We have mentioned the opinion of Salaf-i Salihin (Seniors of the past) about the issue or the situation regarding that issue.
4- We dealt with the current and past discussions about that issue in a Question and Answer manner.
5- In every issue we dealt with, we referred both the evidence and the statements to their original sources and showed their place in the sources.
6- We paid attention to the hadith-i sharifs we mentioned in the subjects we dealt with, not to be weak or fabricated narrations. It is known by everyone that there are some narrations that the scholars of Sufism call weak or fabricated in the books of Sufi scholars.
7- We tried to do something in this book that we are not used to seeing in the books written about Sufism until now.
Perhaps, another feature that makes this book different is this: As it is known, there are two people who oppose Sufism and do not accept Sufism that they frequently refer and make use of when proving their views: Ibn Taymiyye and his student Ibn Qayyim. The words about these two people are quite long. Without dealing with them here, let us say this: The attitudes of these two people on the issues related to Sufism are not in the extent and dimensions that the circles we have mentioned exploit them.Ibn Taymiyya and Ibni Qayyim are not against Sufism as an institution. This point will come to light with a good study of their books. There are certain issues that these two people do not agree with with Sufism. We do not deny them. In fact, when we dealt with issues such as Tevessül, we filtered their views through criticism. However, this does not show that they are totally against Sufism. Many people who read their books, especially Seleften Haris-i Muhasibî, Fudayl ibni Iyâz, Ebu Yezid (Bâyezid) -i Bistamî, Cüneyd-i Bagdadî, Abdulkadir-i Geylanî. They will see that the leader of Sufism praised and used their views in the Sufi issues they dealt with, for the purpose of needing (as evidence). Even though Ibni Taymiyya and Ibn Qayyim had great mistakes, even they are more merciless than their enemies of Sufism today.
8- As we said at the beginning, this book was not written to introduce and explain Sufism. Our aim is to examine the main issues in dispute. For this reason, many issues that fall within the framework of Sufism are not mentioned in this book. The topics we deal with here are: The description of Sufism, its origin, its history, its evidences from the Quran and Sunnah, and the states of Sufism. Tevfik is God Almighty.
