PREFACE
I salute the word, thank you to Allah, and salute the Messenger of Allah.
This work, which we have presented as translation, is a synonym of IHYA-U ULUM - id - DIN. Imam-ı Ghazali and his famous work IHYA occupy an exceptional place in the history of Islam, the life of Imam al-Ghazali, our esteemed brother Dr. Ahmed Subhi Furat Bey. Here I will focus only on need and its vestige.
As the name suggests, “IHYA-U ULUM-id-DIN” means the revival of religious sciences. In this book, Ghazali examined 39 specific issues and touched on almost all aspects of human life, both material and spiritual. While Ghazali's foundations and materials are religious principles while dealing with these issues, the means he uses together with the mind “basîret”; (introspection). The peculiarity of the author in this work is that he investigates the mystery, benefits and harms, rewards and rewards, delicacy and wisdom of the subjects he deals with. From time to time, he evaluates the events in terms of Sufism. For this reason, according to the majority of Islamic scholars, no better work has been written on the subject of va-az and guidance. However, as Cemalüddin al-Kaasimî mentioned in his prelude, it is stated that it will not be beneficial to take what is written in Ihya as it is without subjecting to a selection and evaluation. the idea of taking the essence by throwing it emerged, and as a result of this, concise and zubs were made.Translated by us and named “ZüBDET-ul- IHY and Acirc; & raquo; Muhammad Cemaleddin al-Kaasimi, who is considered to be one of the most valuable scholars of the last period, made the zubdes of this work called in Arabic and in his name and laquo; MEV'iZAT-ul-MÜ'MİNİN MİN IHY and Acirc; -i ULUM-id-DiN & raquo; he said. Jamaleddin al-Kaasimî, & mdash; the aspects he stated in his prelude to his own writing, and mdash; He never added a word or a sentence to himself while doing the zubde of the revival, he only prepared some weak narrations and ambiguous expressions with the parts he regarded as taqwah. By the way, some episodes have never been received.
The sections that are not included in the zübde are:
1) & mdash; The hash of prayer (this part is combined with the bidding part).
2) & mdash; Sema 'and the manners of ecstasy.
3) & mdash; Explain the wonders of the heart.
4) & mdash; Breaking two lust.
5) & mdash; Oneness and trust.
6) & mdash; Love and love.
Although these chapters are not included in the zubde, it is a personal saving of the person who makes the zubdei, in fact, the aforementioned chapters have not been seen as useful by many scholars. Because al-Ghazali has dived into depths beyond comprehension in these chapters, therefore, quite incomprehensible and sometimes misleading situations have arisen, consequently its practical utility has not been considered. However, it is necessary to translate the entire revival in a scientific way and with annotation. Although the whole revival is not very useful for the general public, it is very necessary and useful for cultured people and scientists.
ZüBDET-ul-İHY and Acirc, which we translated; It consists of 34 sections. Both the Arabic texts of the verses and hadiths mentioned in each section are given and their places are shown in the footnote. One of the points to be considered here is that Imam-i Ghazali is a shâfi in furu. For this reason, he deals with legal issues in terms of Shafii sect. Places that do not agree with the Hanafi school are explained in the footnote. In spite of this, it should not be forgotten that the issue is explained according to the Shafii sect, if something contrary to the Hanafi sect is observed.
I await the constructive criticism of the readers, wish perseverance in our sentence in the way of Islam and faith, fevzü necat in the world, and happiness in both worlds.
Success is from God.
