INTRODUCTION TO THE TRANSLATOR
Surely, all praise is to Allah alone. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and the evils of our deeds. No one can mislead what Allah has given guidance. No one can guide what He has led astray. I testify that there is no god but Allah. He is one and only, He has no partner. Again, I testify that Muhammad is the servant and Messenger of Allah.

"O you who believe! Fear Allah as one should fear, and die only as Muslims." (Ali Imran; 3/103)

"O people! Fear your Lord, Who created you from a single soul and created its mate from it, and from both of them many men and women. (Nisa; 4/1)

"O you who believe! Fear Allah and speak straight words. He will correct your deeds in your favor and forgive your sins. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be saved with great salvation." (Ahzab; 33/70-71)

After that, no doubt, the best of words is the word of Allah, and the best of ways is the way of Muhammad Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. The worst of affairs are those that are removed later. Every thing that comes out later is bid'ah, and every bid'ah is heresy. He is in the fire in every misguidance.

Many studies have been carried out by scholars to determine who are Companions. The most important among these are the "Tabakat" works, which were compiled separately in order to show the names of the Companions, their translations and the hadiths that they remained alone in the narration. The first person to produce an independent work in this field was Muhammed b. Ismail al-Bukhari. Over time, large volumes of works were embodied in this area. The latter have supplemented the works of the former. 3500 Companions in Ibn Abdi'l-Barr's al-Is-tiab, 7554 in Ibn-ul-Asir's "Usdu 1-Gabe", and 12279 in Ibn Hajar al-Askalani's "al-Isabe". available. However, these numbers are quite low compared to all of the Companions. Because, different numbers between 40 and 120 thousand are narrated regarding the whole of the Companions. However, due to the diligent efforts of the authors of Tabakat, the translation of any of the Companions who narrated even a single hadith from the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, was not neglected.

Hadith scholars endured many hardships and determined who was a Companion and showed it in their works. Their primary aim was to prevent people like Retan al-Hindi, who were famous for lying, from attributing their delusions to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) under the guise of the Companions.

It has been determined that a person is a Companion on one of the following principles:

The Way of Tawatur: It is the narration of a person that he is a Companion by a congregation, which is not possible to unite on a lie, from another congregation before them. This is the most perfect of the methods.

Way of Istifâza: It can be known that a person is a Companion with a reputation that does not reach the level of tawatur.

Way of Martyrdom: Based on the rule of "the sanctity of one's wahid is acceptable", it can be determined that a person is a Companion if any Companion or follower says, "So-and-so has a correspondence with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh)". For example, Hümeme b. Ebi Hümeme ed-Devsi died of diarrheal disease in Isfehan. Abu Musa al-Ash'ari about Hümeme;
"By Allah, I heard that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would be martyred." said. From this statement, it is understood that Hümeme was the Companion of radiyallahu anh.
Way of Confession: The proof of a person's justice and the possibility of living at the same time as the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) becomes obvious, and if he confesses by being a Companion, his confession is accepted. In other words, a person in this situation is judged to be a Companion. For example, Usama b. Umair Radiyallahu anh:
"We were caught in the rain while we were with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) on the day of Hunayn." he said. Imam Bukhari said about him "he is a Companion" and his hadiths are narrated in the sahihs of Ahmad, Abu Avane, Ibn Huzeyme, Ibn Hibban and Hakim.

In order for the confession to be accepted, the person must die on the date of 110 Hijri at the latest. Because the age of the Companions ends in 110 A.H. The determination of this date was made by the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, about a month before his death;
"Here you see this night, and at the beginning of the next hundred years, there will be no one left of what is on earth today." determined by the hadith.

The work that mentions the names of the Companions the most about the state translations of the Companions is undoubtedly the work of Hafiz Ibn Hajar called al-Isabe fi Temyizi's-Sahabe. In this concise work, I made a selection from the most famous of the Companions mentioned in the work called al-Isa-be and the ones from whom the most hadiths were narrated. In this regard, I determined the names of the Companions I would choose by making use of works such as Hafiz Ibn Hibban's History-Companion and Ibn Hazm's Ceva-miu's-Siyra. Then, I added the case translations of these names that I identified by translating them from al-Isabe. With the notes that I find useful in places, I have also added the companions whose state translations are given in Ibn Qutayba's work el-Maarif as a footnote. In the introduction to my work, I added important explanations about the description of the Companions and their place in religion.

I ask Allah Azza wa Jalla to make this work beneficial. It is God who will make it successful.
