Preface

You are examining the book on Islamic science published by the Publications of the Directorate of Religious Affairs, written by Lutfi Senturk and Seyfettin Yazici. You can read the reviews about the Islamic science book and get a wide range of information about the subject, summary, price and terms of sale of the book.
Recite in the name of your Lord, who created it. He created man from "alak". Read, your Lord is the most generous. (Alak 1-2)
All full accolades; May he, who is the Lord of the worlds, who distinguishes the truth from the superstition, and sends down the Book to God, and who shows the Qur'an in his own life by experiencing it in person, and who is given the authority to set boundaries, to his people and his apostles. Amen
The main purpose of the provisions and basic principles of Islam is to make the yana happy in the world and in the hereafter. Our religion has shown us the bright path of happiness and informed us of our duties and responsibilities.
Our ability to achieve this happiness depends on us performing the tasks we are obliged to perform. This is possible by having accurate and sufficient religious knowledge. "Not knowing" is not a valid excuse in our religion. You can't get rid of responsibility by driving with an excuse like that. Because our religion, whose first commandment is "Read", has made it obligatory for every Muslim to learn knowledge. For this reason, one of the main tasks of Muslims is to learn the necessary information correctly in religious and world affairs.
Our religious duties are to believe first, to perform the worship that is required by our sonar faith. Just as we are obliged to carry out religious orders, we must also refrain from what is forbidden. Apart from these, we have responsibilities and moral duties towards our family, the society we live in and other people. If we do moral duties that have an important place in Islam, we can only be a mature believer.
When we look carefully at the orders and prohibitions of Islam, the last and most perfect of the divine religions, we see that there are many material and spiritual wisdoms in each of them and that they are aimed at the peace and happiness of man. It is up to the Muslim to learn his religious duties correctly and to try to do so in accordance with the will of Allah.
The reward for this is the eternal happiness that our Lord heralded in the Qur'an:
And for those who believe and do good deeds, there are gardens with rivers flowing through them. That is the greatest triumph."
In this book, the principles of faith and worship of our religion are explained in detail and necessary information is given about the harams and sins that Muslims should avoid. In addition, some of the issues encountered in our daily lives and some religious issues that are discussed a lot today have been clarified.
One of the purposes of the orders and prohibitions of our religion is to mature muslims by making them good morals. For this reason, the subject of morality, which has a very close connection with faith and worship, is also included, the importance of morality and moral duties are briefly explained in the light of verses and hadiths and summary information about the virtuous life and superior morality of our prophet is presented.
This Islamic science, prepared using the use of good sources, is written in a language that everyone can easily understand, and religious terms are simplified as much as possible. The surahs and numbers of the verses and the sources of the hadiths are shown in the footnotes for convenience to those who are interested and want to do research. In addition, important and notable issues and the opinions of other denominations are also included in footnotes. We wish that this book, which contains religious information that every Muslim should learn and which we hope will meet a great need in the field, will be useful to our brothers and sisters of religion, and we ask The Almighty to forgive our mistakes.
Our duty is to work in good faith. It is Only God who succeeds.
Dear readers, as you know, our Presidency has continued its duty to "enlighten society on religion" since its inception. Religious publications are of great importance among his activities for this purpose. The fact that the first printed work published among religious publications dates back to 1924 (Ahmet Hamdi Akseki, Moral Lessons) reveals the importance of our Presidency since its inception. Audio and video broadcasts have been added to the printed scalpel in recent years, which is very gratifying. Since its inception, our Presidency has published over 400 works that appeal to children, adults and academic circles, as well as cartoons, dramas, documentaries, package programs, sermons and Quran tapes and tapes. In this column of our journal during the new publication period, we thought it would be useful to introduce some of the works that have appeared among the publications of the Directorate of Religious Affairs to our readers. Our aim is to awaken the attention it deserves to our publications, which are prepared with great care and undergo the examination of our High Council of Religious Affairs, and to guide the arrow in this regard. It is certain that such promotional articles will be very useful for both the author and the reader. Half of the international journals published in Different Countries of Europe and America constitute articles of the type of book promotion/criticism. In addition to the makele editors of these journals, there are also book promotion/criticism editors; It is also known that authors are eagerly awaiting the release of promotional and critical articles about their books. Undoubtedly, these reveal how important and useful promotional articles are. We consider it a very important development that such articles have started to be published in journals published in the field of Islamic sciences in our country. Naturally, such articles are published following the history of the works. In general, we will follow this tradition, but we will also try to promote works published in previous years that we consider useful in promoting for our readers. In this issue, we would like to introduce The Islamic Science of Diyanet.
It is an abandonment consisting of the words science, knowledge and state and means "behavioral knowledge" in modern Turkish. In reformation, it is a name given to books that teach the main principles and rules of Islam. As it is known, Islam promises the Muslim happiness of the world and the afterlife and reminds him of his responsibility to his Lord, himself and the society and environment in which he lives in order to achieve this goal. The duty to help and guide the Muslim masses in this regard rests on the shoulders of scholars. As a matter of fact, the people who raised themselves in the Islamic field copyrighted books in a concise manner and adhering to a certain sectarian tradition of minimum common knowledge, which is inevitable for Muslims in the historical process, and thus tried to perform their duties of guidance. Such books constituted the nuances of the scientific tradition in Islamic Turkish literature. In our country, the need for practical religious information of our people has been tried to be met with the scientific books written. There are many books of science in Turkish that have been published on the market to date. Mehmet Mental Efendi's Nimet-i Islam, Omer Nasuhi Bilin's Great Islamic Science; Ali Fikri Yavuz's Explained Islamic Scholar, Prof. Dr. Suleyman Ateş's New Islamic Science, Prof. Dr. Hamdi Dönen's Evidence and Islamic Science, Family Science with The Evidence of the same author, Ismail Mutlu's New Islamic Science, Mustafa Varli's Islamic Science, Hasan Cemal Öğüt's Women's Science, A. Uysal and M. Uysal's Illustrated Women's Illustration Encyclopedia and finally the Turkish Religious Foundation Islamic Research Center (ISM) prepared for a commission.
The Directorate of Religious Affairs also made an important contribution in this field with its 1995 work Diyanet New Islamic Science (Religious Islamic Science in subsequent editions). Whether or not he had sufficient knowledge, it became the expectation of our people to prepare such a work from our Supreme Council of Religious Affairs, the highest advisory and decision-making body of our Presidency, which has taken on the task of enlightening society on religion in an environment where everyone who comes before them writes and draws on a very sensitive subject such as religion and often the facts disappear. This expectation played an important role in the writing of the work. In addition, as the authors emphasized in the book's foreword, the need for a book that everyone can easily understand and whose terms are as simplified as possible has also been influential in the copyright of the work. Diyanet Islamic Science was prepared by Lutfi Senturk and Seyfettin Yazici, members of the High Council of Religious Affairs of our Presidency. Both of our teachers are scholarly people in the Islamic field. The book consists of 6 chapters. In chapter one; issues such as the need for religion and religion, faith and denominations, sources of religious provisions, principles of faith are examined under the heading "faith". In the second part, under the heading "worship"; The conditions of Islam, the acts of the taxpayer, cleanliness, the judgment of the waters, ablution, prayer, fasting, zakat, hajj, sacrifice, blessed days and nights and vows are included. In the third part; halal and harams related to food and beverages and the issues that need to be respected or avoided in our commercial life have been touched. Likewise, in this section, the basic rules of the Islamic fiqh are mentioned in the principles to be considered in the slaughter of animals, hunting, lending, donations, wills and found items, which are not included in some scientific books. Marriage and related issues are also examined in this section. The fourth chapter focuses on things that are sinful to encourage, such as shirking, manslaughter, adultery, magic, fleeing war, prophecy and fortunetelling. At the end of this chapter, the subject of repentance is included. In the fifth chapter, the subject of morality is discussed, the importance of morality and our moral duties are explained in the light of verses and hadiths. The sixth and final chapter, which was added to the book in its first edition, is dedicated to the exemplary life and high morality of our Prophet. The book ended with a poem by Mustafa Fehmi Gerçeker expressing his love of the Prophet.

As for the book's main features:

1. The work was written in a clear and understandable style first of all and, as seen in some scholarly books, the words and abandonments in Arabic and Ottoman were tried not to be included. In cases where this is not avoided, necessary explanations have been made. This has been a feature that makes it easier for our new generation to benefit from the book.
2. As we approached the issues, the original sources of religion were descended, especially the view of the Qur'an and circumcision was tried to be reflected, and the current development and change were not ignored. The mention of verses and hadith texts added a different value to the work.
3. Especially when examining the subjects of worship, first of all, the importance and benefits of worship were emphasized, and a number of forms to be given later were tried to show the framework in which the information should be evaluated.
4. Disputed issues are avoided as much as possible, especially opinions that are considered authentic are included. In subjects where the reader may need to see resources, trust is indicated by showing the sources in footnotes.
5. Current problems encountered by Muslims such as organ transplantation, contraception, use of drugs, interest in shopping, prizes and interest received in competitions have been contacted. In addition, in the book, the issue of ru'yet-i hilal, which has been preoccupying the minds of Muslims for many years, is discussed in detail and a convincing solution is shown by mentioning the pros and dissecting opinions on the subject. In this section, a broad summary of the communiqué presented by the Directorate of Religious Affairs to the Ru'yet-i Hilal Conference, which was convened in Istanbul in 1978 with the participation of 40 religious and astronomical scholars from 19 Islamic countries, gave the book a special feature.
6. Based on the exemplary life of the Prophet, high moral values that constitute the essence of Islam and are considered as the fruit of religion have been established. The rules of living in accordance with human dignity and responsibility, respectful towards man himself and other people, have been clearly demonstrated.
7. According to the subjects added to the end of the work, an alphabetical fihrist is also capable of allowing readers to easily benefit from the book.
